So a while back I decided to buy my daughter a cellphone. She’s 20, and we figured that it’d be a great way for us all to stay in touch. Except before we did that, I wanted to make sure that she couldn’t accidentally run up a huge bill. After all, I’m paying the freight on this – so I didn’t want her to be able to accidentally purchase things she shouldn’t on my credit card, or go over her 300MB data-plan limit.
So it’s now been a week since I started my little exercise adventure (okay, I posted my first article on Sunday, but I started actually doing it last Wednesday).
When I first posted, my weight was 199lbs. Body fat percentage, according to my handy-dandy scales-cum-tricorder was 28%. I will warn you right now that I’ve discovered that it’s pretty inaccurate unless you weigh yourself a couple of times to see where it lands, and I didn’t know that at the start, so it might be 2-3lbs too high.
So based on the fact that I weighed myself a couple of days ago, and discovered that I weighed a totally awesome 199lbs, it’s time to start a new exercise regime. One that will involve a lot of dancing – and of course, a lot of Dance Central 2. Time to crack out my ballet shoes…
So I was flying to the East Coast of America for work this week, and I had an interesting experience. I got up way earlier than normal, and was glad to get some sleep on the flight. Except I kept waking up.
Somehow, I got stuck in a half-awake/half-asleep state which wasn’t exactly lucid dreaming, but was pretty close.
Whenever I closed my eyes, I could see swimming, hi-def visuals. A full-on rotating 3D geometric, cartoon style (with line-art, and flat shading) tower with spinning sections, all in oranges, blacks and white.
Kind of like something that The Designers Republic might dream up, or something from ye olde home computer Demo Scene. A bit monochrome, but literally real. Slightly ghostly, in that I could tell I was dreaming, but it was certainly more solid than the visuals I usually get when I daydream.
There was a little turbulence on the flight. This is where it gets interesting.
