Leaving Quora

Quora recently changed the site in some heinous ways. They removed the details from all questions, because they're trying to make sure that there's only one "canonical question" you can search for an answer to.

Unfortunately this destroys nuance - after all, there's only so much detail you can put into 250 characters.

So in response, I'm going to start migrating all of my question answers on Quora to my blog. It's going to take a while, but hey, more content for the blog.

Screenwriting update: Brixton vs. Compton

So I’m happy to say that I’ve finished writing the first draft of the pilot episode of my reality mockumentary comedy tv pilot (wow, that’s a mouthful), Brixton vs Compton. It’s in the hands of my read-through crew now, which is a nice place in the process to be in.

Of course, it’s also only episode 1 of 12. (Which means I need to get my skates on and write at least another 3 episodes sharpish).

Y is for Yurt

I’ve decided to start writing up the stories I come up with for Lexi when I’m putting her to bed. Here’s the first one…

Once upon a time, there was a turkish princess who lived in a yurt.

If you’ve never seen a yurt, it’s a large round tent, filled with pillows and rugs.

The princess decided that she wanted to live in a room filled with light, so in her yurt one day, she gathered one thousand candles, and set them up in a spiral around the room.
